Design for the snowman

At this stage of creating the final copy for the first day of winter Google, I had to create the snowman. I wanted the snowman to be precise and accurate oppose to just hand drawing it that maybe not even. So I measured the capital “G” height and then measured the space between the “G” and the “o”. Then I divided the spaces into three rectangles making the top rectangle a little smaller. Roughly drew the circles, I trace them to make the image cleaner. I really like the design for the snowman even though I put a bit too much work. I then knew the snowman was ready to be traced on the final copy of the Google design

Almost Finish

Pastel version of final Google
At this stage, I am at the verge of finishing my Google design. Unfortunately, the final product was in pastel, which was really challenging to get though corner and thin spaces. There I had to change my choice of media. Not it did not look good, but needed to improve and presented better. I still post the pastel version of my final Google because it still looked really good. I was a little grieved to here the dramatic change but, it never stop me to make the new pencil crayon version of the final Google. I personally had concerns about the pastel version of the final Google being presented unprofessionally and smudge. Over all, I think the pencil crayon version will be outstanding.

Template and measurement for final copy

I new that for the final piece of Google we had to be presented professionally, so decide to created a rough template. Though it was rough, I still measured accurately the negative space to center Google. This process took only 2 to 4 minutes of my time but was worth it. I really feel confident that this template will come in good use even if I only used it once.

A few adjustments for DNA

the letter "G" forming into a double helix
Photograph 51 was the discovery of the double helix in Deoxyribonucleic acid or DNA. Unfortunately, the capital “G” of my Google for Photograph 51 was not a double helix but a curve latter. I was really unsure of this and self-conscious that photograph 51 is the all about double helix not really about DNA. I then decide to adjust the letter G forming it into a double helix. I was really satisfied of the change I made, but then I had another issue with the e.

Color roughs

After select the top three Google, which were; photograph 51 for historical event, Warner brothers for famous artist, and for annual event, the first day of winter. I knew what colors I wanted for the first day of winter and photograph 51 but for the Warner brothers, was litter challenging. This step was long due that one of the media I selected. I chose to use oil pastel for the annual event Google because of the cold colors and blending in the cool colors with white giving an icy look and feel.

Selecting my top three Google

my top three Google are: the first day of winter,
photograph 51, and the Warner brothers

After brainstorming 4 pages of ideas, it was time to select three of my three best Google design, one from historical event, one from a famous artist and one from annual event. It was hard to select the three Google because, there was some that I want to do but may require more time, and others that I find interesting. This was the hardest and pressuring step due to the time, and how much design was going to be involved. I had to take both of these things in thought. Then I finally found my three.

Sketches of Bugs Bunny

 rough profile of Bug Bunny
One of the artist I selected was the Warner brothers because, of the style of their art. I decided to do little research on their style since they created Bugs Bunny. Bugs Bunny I thought would represent them the most because everyone knows him for the loony toon cartoons. I really enjoyed sketching Bugs Bunny for my Google because though they were rough, they were presented well. Also it was like a mini character profile with only three expressions.

Beginning of my Google

Brainstorming ideas was difficult in terms of finding famous artists and historical events. Brainstorming for annual events was easy on the other hand. I really enjoyed drawing the rough ideas because, the thumb nails gives a professional look. The thumb nails were not organized but, I still like them. What I really dislike about this step was researching for the historical events. I got use to researching for a while. I had some really good ideas. I still put what I brainstormed in my sketch book even though it was not going to be selected as my final.

The Google design

final Google Design

For this design, the class and I had to create a design for Google. We were given three topics which were annual event, historical event, and a famous artist. We were to use these topics and interpret our own Google. I had seen a lot of Google on the computer thinking this assignment was going to easy. Unfortunately in was partially challenging.

final abstract chair design

This is my final abstract chair design. I chose this composition instead of the others I did because my sister fined it interesting. In my opinion, I like all the composition I created for this assignment. The colors are really striking and the textures are rough and smooth. Also the textures really busy in the shapes. I really enjoy this assignment. Although I had a few that may stand out better, this one was a little different.

abstact chair design

When inserting the textures in the shape on photoshop, it was hard at first but after getting use to the program i improve. It seem very easy and I really enjoyed using this program. I really thought selecting the texture was hard. Instead of thinking of which textures goes good together, I experimented with the textures. This is not the final design but one of the experiment designs I created.

abstract chair design

the next step was to crop out a good composition and then enlarge the composition. I thought this step was easier than the first step because I had allot of composition I found. I chose this composition because of the variety of shapes and sizes. We had to clean up the composition making the image cleaner with straight line and accurate curves and angle. This process was easy due to the lines being straight.

abstract chair design

the first step was to draw the negative spaces of a statue of chairs. this was difficult because, we can't draw the chairs only the negative spaces. Also using the crop finders was challenging and tiring because we have to keep the position of the croped image. Although it was tiring i like the finished product.
